Everyone else in the group arrived Monday June 23. I woke up from the bed in St. Pauls youth hostel and in about 15 minutes I blew that popsicle stand, reppin' my favorite Michael Jackson shirt. I knew this day had big things in store. Once again clad with my huge baggage, I ventured off on the tube to my professors' flat. After picking up my key and an hour walk to my own flat (The Gazzano Appartments) it felt so good to finally put my stuff down and shower.
Zoe Peterson (my roommate/bff) and I set out to experience london after cleaning up a bit. In all honesty, I think it was a little more like the walking dead than two college students out for the first day in a new country. We shuffled through the underground to Covent Garden to buy my favorite purchase so far, my teal cambridge satchel. I'd been looking forward to owning that bad boy for a while. After a bite we bought my new favorite treat, the Ladurée Macaroon. Those are ambrosia in my mind. Vanilla is hands down the best, with its perfect texture and divine creamy center, however the ginger was delightful for the more adventurous. I've been back thrice since that first one. yum.
We realized that you really work up an appetite here in London, as we probably walked like seven miles that day; some of which we were carrying the most annoying baggage I've ever carried. So naturally we fueled with some fish and chips at our local chippy.
